Clipper Teas, founded by Mike and Lorraine Brehme in 1984, is a brand of the European organic food company Ecotone, headquartered in Lyon, France. Clipper Teas operates under its legal entity Kallo Foods Limited and is based in Beaminster, Dorset, England. It was the UK’s first Fairtrade tea company and is recognized as the world’s largest Fairtrade tea brand. Clipper Teas produces over 1.2 billion tea bags annually and sells its products in over 50 countries. The brand is renowned for its plant-based, biodegradable, and non-GM tea bags sealed with polylactic acid. Their manufacturing process is entirely conducted in the UK, ensuring high quality and adherence to Fairtrade principles. Clipper's portfolio includes around 150 products and holds over 60 Great Taste Awards. They are socially responsible, having contributed over USD 7 million in Fairtrade premiums and maintained carbon neutrality by offsetting over 31,000 tonnes of CO2 over the past decade.
